Lebara is a prepaid-focused mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that aims at low-cost international calling and simple monthly bundles. Buying Lebara SIM Card

You can buy a Lebara SIM before arrival or pick one up in Denmark. Buying ahead removes one small admin task on arrival, but in Denmark starter packs are widely available.

• Order online from Lebara and have the SIM posted to a Danish address or a pickup point. Delivery speeds vary by retailer and location.
• Buy in person at supermarkets, petrol stations, 7-Eleven, kiosks and electronics shops. Starter packs are common and easy to find.
• Price: starter packs are usually in the low DKK range (around DKK 49) and sometimes include initial credit; some shops provide a free SIM if you buy a top-up voucher.

Activating Your Lebara SIM Card

1. Insert the SIM into an unlocked phone and switch the phone on.
2. Follow any activation steps printed on the starter pack – usually making one outgoing call or registering the SIM in the MyLebara portal triggers activation.
3. If automatic activation fails, call the Danish Lebara support number on the pack or log in to your MyLebara account and use the activation tool. You may be asked to confirm an email, phone number or ID for certain actions.

Topping Your Lebara SIM Card

Topping up is flexible: use the website, the Lebara app, buy a paper voucher, or ask staff in shops to top you up at the till.

1. Online/app: create a MyLebara account on Lebara’s site, choose Top-up and pay with card or MobilePay. Registering lets you activate monthly bundles, set auto-renew and view usage.
2. Voucher: buy a paper voucher and follow the specific PIN entry instructions on the voucher or in the SMS it triggers.
3. In-store: many retailers will top up your number at the checkout if you give them the phone number – keep the phone nearby to confirm the credit arrival.

Prepaid Packages That Lebara Denmark Offers

Lebara sells monthly prepaid bundles that combine a data allowance with either local minutes and/or international minutes. Packages change regularly, but you can expect basic, mid and heavy-user tiers:

• Low-tier: a few gigabytes and limited minutes – useful if you mainly use messaging apps and occasional calls.
• Mid-tier: double-digit GB and a sensible allowance of international minutes for regular callers abroad.

Keeping Your Existing Number with Lebara

If you want to bring your existing number, Mobile Number Portability (MNP) makes the move straightforward – but follow the steps carefully to avoid downtime.

1. Keep your old SIM active. Do not cancel the old contract or deactivate the number before the port completes.
2. Buy a Lebara SIM and register the basic details in MyLebara or the porting form (existing number, name as on the account, and any ID required).
3. Submit the port request via MyLebara or the port form. Expect a confirmation message with an estimated switch date – often within 1-2 days but occasionally longer depending on the losing operator.

Porting can require proof of identity or a matching name on both accounts. If you run into problems, contact Lebara support and your old operator; they can usually trace the hold-up.

Lebara Data Settings

Most phones receive Lebara’s APN and MMS settings automatically when the SIM is activated. If mobile data does not work after activation, try these steps:

1. Confirm you have enough credit or an active monthly bundle for data.
2. Restart the phone and make sure Mobile Data / Cellular Data is enabled in your device settings.
3. Request the automatic setup SMS from Lebara (the support pages or customer service can send configuration messages) or copy the manual APN settings from Lebara’s website and paste them into your phone’s APN fields.
